What are the opportunities?
Erasmus+ offers opportunities to organise projects for the mobility of young people and youth workers.
Youth Exchanges allow groups of young people from different countries to meet and live together for up to 21 days to carry out a series of activities focusing on a theme that is relevant for them. These activities are planned and prepared by the participants involved in the project. Information on how young people can take part is available on the Youth Exchanges page.
For youth workers, organisations can take part in opportunities to support the professional development and network of youth workers, including activities such as:
- training courses,
- networking events,
- study visits, and
- job shadowing/observation periods abroad.
How do they work?
Organisations or groups of young people interested in taking part can apply for opportunities in one of the following roles:
- Coordinator of a youth mobility project - responsible for applying on behalf of all participants,
- Sending Organisations - an organisation in charge of sending young people and/or youth workers abroad,
- Receiving Organisations - responsible for hosting, developing a programme of activities for participants and providing support.
Any organisation or group established in a Programme Country can be the applicant, and must apply on behalf of all participating organisations involved in a project.
What else should you know?
The exchanges are open to young people aged 13-30 and last from 5 to 21 days. They can take place in a Member State or outside the EU. Exchanges must involve organisations from two or more countries.
Opportunities for youth workers can last from two days to two months, and must take place in the country of one of the participating organisations. Projects can include up to 50 people.
How to apply?
Applications should be submitted to the National Agency in the Programme Country where the applicant organisation is established.
