Activities funded
Funding for higher education institutions, teacher training institutes, or teacher training agencies to deliver to school teachers and VET providers (ISCED 1-4)
- structured training proposals on EU subjects
- individual or group training courses for teachers interested in the EU
This training can be offered as part of regular curricula, or as extra-curricular activities. Courses can be modular, residential, blended or online.
Teacher training can cater to initial teacher education or to the continuous professional development of teachers.
Applicant requirements
Higher education institutions in Erasmus + programme countries must hold a valid Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE).
These countries are known as "EU Member States or countries associated to the Programme".
Project duration
3 years.
Budget
Maximum grant per teacher training: €300,000 (maximum 80% of the total costs).
What is expected of training providers
The Jean Monnet teacher training provider should plan, design, organise and deliver content related to the EU which
- ensures a better understanding of the European Union, both in general education and vocational training
- strengthens knowledge and skills on teaching about EU matters
Having learnt from a Jean Monnet teacher training provider, teachers will be better equipped and more confident to deliver EU content during their course work.

Calls for proposals are published on an annual basis.
Interested organisations apply to the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA).
