Activities funded
Funding for higher education institutions to deliver short teaching programmes or courses in the field of European Union studies.
Allowed formats are
- general or introductory courses, in particular at institutions and faculties that do not yet have a highly developed course offering in the field of EU studies
- specialised teaching on EU developments, in particular at institutions and faculties that do already have a highly developed course offering in the field
- summer and intensive courses
Teaching activities can include face-to-face or remote seminars or tutorials, but not individual instruction.
Applicant requirements
The organisation must be a higher education institution established in an Erasmus+ programme country or partner country.
These countries are known as "EU Member States or countries associated to the Programme" and "third countries not associated to the Programme".
Those established in Erasmus+ programme countries must hold a valid Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE).
Duration
3 years, with a minimum of 40 teaching hours per academic year.
Budget
Maximum grant: €35,000
What is expected of the provider
Providers of Jean Monnet Modules are required to bring innovative, interesting and specific EU content to their learners. They are also encouraged to disseminate the results of the activities beyond the university and students.
Examples of dissemination activities are
- publishing at least one peer reviewed article during the grant period
- participating in dissemination and information events at national and European level
- organising events (lectures, seminars, workshops, etc.) with policy makers at local, regional and national level
- organising seminars or lectures geared and adapted to the public and civil society representatives
- networking with other coordinators of Modules, Centres of Excellence, Jean Monnet Chairs and supported institutions
- applying open educational resources (OER), publishing the summaries, content and schedule of their activities as well as the expected outcomes
How to apply
Calls for proposals are published on an annual basis.
Interested organisations apply to the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA).
