Digital transformation is revolutionising the way Europeans live, study and work. Since these changes bring new challenges and opportunities, the EU aims to increase the number of Europeans with basic digital skills, making sure that 80% of Europeans have at least basic digital skills by 2030.
To tackle these challenges, the EU launched the “Digital Skills and Jobs Coalition” with the ambition of empowering Europeans to acquire the digital skills they need to thrive in society, remain productive and employable.
Focus: entrepreneurship in VET
The DEEP project's main aim is to improve the professional chances of VET (vocational education and training) students with different backgrounds by developing their entrepreneurship skills alongside their digital skills.
By treating these skill-sets in an integrative, interdisciplinary manner, the DEEP project innovates the learning process of skills traditionally seen in separation by national curricula.
Another value of the project is its transnational nature: it tackles EU challenges (fragmentation and distance between VET and digital entrepreneurship) and provides EU-wide solutions that can be addressed only in a holistic vision.
Project outputs
Open online courses
One of the main outputs of the DEEP project is a series of online open courses on digital entrepreneurship for VET teachers/mentors and students.

Case studies and toolkits
The project also produced resources to help budding digital entrepreneurs put their studies into practice. These include case studies from organisations who have already started educational and digital transformation into existing entrepreneurial environments, guidance on branding, establishing new tools and processes, and more.
