Erasmus+

EU programme for education, training, youth and sport

The European Student Identifier is a digital identifier that enables students to uniquely identify themselves across organisational and national boundaries when they access student services online throughout a mobility period.

It supports and eases international student mobility and transnational cooperation by the transfer of student data between higher education institutions.

In the context of the ESC, the ESI is one of the components of the European Student Card. In order to issue an ESC, the institutions should upload the ESI to the ESC-R, along with other components (e.g. academic level).

The ESI may take one or two forms (national or HEI- wide scope), depending on the qualifiers needed to make a given student code globally unique.

Your institution is responsible of issuing the European Student Identifier.
