Project owner

The European Commission's Directorate General for Education and Culture (DG EAC) is the Project owner of the European Student Card.

Roles and responsibilities

  • acts as the ESC project champion promoting the ESC's success
  • ensures that the project outcomes meet the strategic and operational expectations
  • defines the high-level plan and detailed roadmap
  • regularly monitors the Solution provider's progress in developing and implementing tasks and deliverables
  • approves and sign-off on all key management milestones artefacts

Coordination and reporting mechanisms  

  • monthly ESC progress meetings with the Solution provider on activities, blocking points and progress
  • interim and final meetings with the Solution provider every four months on activities completed to identify risks and validate deliverables
