The European Commission (hereafter ‘the Commission’) is committed to protect your personal data and to respect your privacy. The Commission collects and further processes personal data pursuant to Regulation (EU) 2018/1725 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 October 2018 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data by the Union institutions, bodies, offices and agencies and on the free movement of such data (repealing Regulation (EC) No 45/2001).
This privacy statement explains the reason for the processing of your personal data, the way we collect, handle and ensure protection of all personal data provided, how that information is used and what rights you have in relation to your personal data. It also specifies the contact details of the responsible Data Controller with whom you may exercise your rights, the Data Protection Officer and the European Data Protection Supervisor.
The information in relation to processing Erasmus+, Creative Europe and European Solidarity Corps Project Results Platforms (E+/CE/ESC PRP) undertaken by DG EAC.A3 is presented below.
The Erasmus +, Creative Europe and European Solidarity Corps Project Results Platforms (E+/CE/ESC PRP) are the electronic platforms for the dissemination and exploitation of results of projects funded by the Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture (DG EAC) of the European Commission.
DG EAC.A3 collects and uses your personal information to give information about projects financed by European Commission programmes in the fields of education, training, youth, sport, culture and audio-visual.
Your personal data will not be used for an automated decision-making including profiling.
The Project results platforms offer a comprehensive overview of all projects funded under the Erasmus+, Creative Europe and European Solidarity Corps programmes as well as of some projects funded under the previous programmes (i.e Life Long Learning, Youth in Action, Culture).
We process your personal data, because:
- processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the Union institution or body
- processing is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation to which the entity of the operational controller is subject
The relevant legal bases are:
- Regulation (EU) 2021/817 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 20 May 2021 establishing Erasmus+: the Union Programme for education and training, youth and sport and repealing Regulation (EU) No 1288/2013
- Regulation (EU) 2021/818 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 20 May 2021 establishing the Creative Europe Programme (2021 to 2027) and repealing Regulation (EU) No 1295/2013
- Regulation (EU) 2021/888 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 20 May 2021 establishing the European Solidarity Corps Programme and repealing Regulations (EU) 2018/1475 and (EU) No 375/2014.
The data subject has given consent to the processing of his or her personal data for one or more specific purposes. Data subjects express their consent – to the project beneficiary – for uploading personal information (such as photos of the data subject) on the platform and by explicitly agreeing on certain personal data to be displayed publicly (i.e. name, surname of the contact person.
In order to carry out this processing operation DG EAC.A3 collects information about the projects, such as:
- professional information about the contact person in the contracting organisation, including any contractor / coordinator / contact-person / co-organiser involved in the implementation of the projects: name, first name, e-mail, address, telephone number, fax and url
- personal data of participants contained in project results and outputs, if made available by the beneficiary
The provision of personal data is not mandatory, but it might be required to provide additional information to the user (i.e. to contact a specific person in the beneficiary organisation).
We have obtained your personal data from the beneficiary according to the provisions set in the grant agreement.
DG EAC.A3 only keeps your personal data for the time necessary to fulfil the purpose of collection or further processing, namely for ten years after the end of the final publication of the project mentioned under point 3, i.e. Lifelong Learning, Youth in Action, Culture, Tempus, Erasmus Mundus, Creative Europe and Erasmus+ in consideration of the following legal obligations and constraints:
- the time limit for potential appeal from applicants or beneficiaries not selected to receive a grant
- the time limit for potential audits to selected projects
- the obligation to evaluate the impact of the Programmes, as provided in the Decisions establishing the programmes
All personal data in electronic format (e-mails, documents, databases, uploaded batches of data, etc.) are stored on the servers of the European Commission. All processing operations are carried out pursuant to the Commission Decision (EU, Euratom) 2017/46 of 10 January 2017 on the security of communication and information systems in the European Commission.
In order to protect your personal data, the Commission has put in place a number of technical and organisational measures in place. Technical measures include appropriate actions to address online security, risk of data loss, alteration of data or unauthorised access, taking into consideration the risk presented by the processing and the nature of the personal data being processed. Organisational measures include restricting access to the personal data solely to authorised persons with a legitimate need to know for the purposes of this processing operation.
Access to your personal data is provided to the Commission staff responsible for carrying out this processing operation and to authorised staff according to the “need to know” principle. Such staff abide by statutory, and when required, additional confidentiality agreements.
The information about the projects is processed by the E+/CE/ESC PRP system supplier (EAC.R4) and E+/CE/ESC PRP helpdesk staff (EAC.A3). The information is transferred automatically from the Grant Management Systems (e-Grants/EACEA and PMM/EAC) into E+/CE/ESC PRP for publication.
The information about the project results is processed and validated by Project officers (National Agencies and EACEA) before publication. The information is uploaded by the project beneficiaries directly into E+/CE PRP. This feature is currently not available for ESC PRP.
You have specific rights as a ‘data subject’ under Chapter III (Articles 14-25) of Regulation (EU) 2018/1725, in particular the right to access, your personal data and to rectify them in case your personal data are inaccurate or incomplete. Where applicable, you have the right to erase your personal data, to restrict the processing of your personal data, to object to the processing, and the right to data portability.
You can exercise your rights by contacting the Data Controller, or in case of conflict the Data Protection Officer. If necessary, you can also address the European Data Protection Supervisor. Their contact information is given under Heading 9 below.

The European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS)
You have the right to have recourse (i.e. you can lodge a complaint) to the European Data Protection Supervisor (edps (at) edps.europa.eu) if you consider that your rights under Regulation (EU) 2018/1725 have been infringed as a result of the processing of your personal data by the Data Controller.
The Commission Data Protection Officer (DPO) publishes the register of all processing operations on personal data by the Commission, which have been documented and notified to him.
