I have always wanted to explore the world, meet people from different countries, get to know myself better, and challenge myself. So, when my friends told me about Erasmus+, I instantly knew it was for me.

In 2019, my Erasmus+ journey began. I was 19 and in Germany on my first youth exchange. That experience meant a lot to me, so I was keen to go on another! My next exchange was to Almeria, Spain in 2021 where I spent the summer studying marketing and learning about myself, new cultures, and new languages. I loved meeting people and making friends, which only happened because Erasmus+ empowered me to leave my comfort zone.

This year, I completed two more youth exchanges. The first was in Tenerife where I studied ecology. There, we examined the importance of environmental awareness and learned how to become more environmentally responsible. My second exchange this year was in Serbia, where we learned about the biodiversity of insects. These exchanges provided formal and informal educational experiences that I will use to create a better life for myself and for the planet.

If you ask me what the Erasmus+ experience is, I would say it’s the realisation that everything is possible for YOU!

I’ve experienced lots of benefits through Erasmus+. Firstly, getting out of my comfort zone has made me stronger and I feel ready for anything. I’ve improved my professional, communication, leadership, and English language skills, as well as my understanding of different cultures, all of which sets me apart from the crowd.

Erasmus+ is the perfect opportunity for both formal and non-formal education. Acquiring soft skills and knowledge about the world is easy with Erasmus+ youth exchanges, which change you for the better. You learn to move forward, to think outside the box, and to better understand different cultures. Erasmus+ enables us to become citizens of the world and better versions of ourselves.
