How the card works

The European Student Card is not a new student card. It consists of technical and visual elements that higher education institutions add to their existing student cards via the “ESC-Router”, a digital platform that facilitates student status verification across Erasmus+ programme countries.

As a higher education institution in a EU/EEA Member State or as an ECHE holder in another Erasmus+ programme country, you can join the ESC through several quick steps. This starts with connecting to the ESC-Router.
