Introducing the ESCI Champions 2025 – 2027!

This round attracted more participation and applicant institutions than ever, highlighting the commitment of higher education institutions to easing student mobility in Europe.

""

European Student Card Initiative Champions are higher education institutions and organisations that have made significant progress in adopting the different building blocks of the European Student Card Initiative (ESCI).

In doing so, they are supporting the digitalisation and simplification of administrative processes in Erasmus+ mobility.

Ambassadors of the ESCI community

The newly appointed ESCI Champions will serve a two-year term. Their role ranges from supporting ESCI by participating in meetings and national events, to outreach activities like sharing testimonials and best practices with their peers, to contributing to shaping ESCI developments.

Categories

In this role they will represent the ESCI community, whose energy and commitment were reflected in the quality of the applications received in each of the three ESCI Champions categories:

  • Implementation of Erasmus Without Paper (EWP)
  • Implementation of the European Student Card (ESC)
  • Champions of Excellence, that demonstrate exceptional implementation of both ESC and EWP

Who are the latest champions?

The selected champions include higher education institutions and student unions from across the European Education Area that have demonstrated an outstanding implementation of ESCI.

Nominations were submitted by the Digital Officers of Erasmus+ National Agencies and evaluated by DG EAC. One ESCI Champion was selected per National Agency.
